Unhappy I will die untill May 12

I got the game today, walked in to bestbuy payed my 50 bucks, and left knowing i would have some fun, yet knowing the bad side of what i had done.

My computer well used to be good i thought, but now i see it is compleatly useless. Ram at 256, Vedio card not able 2 work anymore on it , so it's using stalk. Its a windows Xp, Viao, and you cant really buy to add on 2 it. It just wont take anything. So now i sit here tonight on the officail game realese night with the box at my side and die slowly. It did not work, at all, so i will not take part in the opening of this game. But yet theres hope.

On may 12, some one well be able 2 give me 600$ that he has owed me for quite some time. And on that day i shall build my 500$ doller computer and from then on take part in this adventure. But untill then i must slowly suffer. But with the pain brings hope.

And HOPEfully, i will be running around lvl 1 newbishly at that great day of may. I shall rejoice when the day comes.

Man, I feel sorry for you. That is torture! With $500 you can build a good machine.

AMD Sempron 3000+
512 RAM
Chaintech VFN3-250
9600 XT

That would be a good solid GW build. Keep your current RAM, maybe buy a new case and transfer your RAM, power supply, hardrive, and etc.

Sorry, but did you at least try to run the game?
I played it with a GeForce 2 GTS on nearly maximum (No Anti Aliasing, though) and if you have anything better than a P3 800, it should work.

well this the lowdown, im not the big comp expert, though my farther is ect.
but i have

256k ram
Stock vedio card, wich i do have a Geforce something or another.. and im gonna try 2 put that in with last hope. but ive tried like a month ago and it didnt work, but there might be a way.

But when i got 2 the charicters .. in the charicter creation they are like white, and you can see through them.. there is no detail to them at all, see through white particles that resemble people pretty much. When i got into game and O YES i got into it haha, everyone was a white see-through none texture charicter, lagging badly and the world textures resembled blocks pretty much. Or some did at least, i only played like 5 seconds.
i'll look up all that i got right now and put it on this post, have nothing better 2 do haha.

Do you have the latest drivers for your machine? That could be your problem.

This game is smooth, even cranky old PC's should be able to run it.

Seriously, not too brag (and I give the programmers the credit here, not my PC), but I have all the settings maxed out, 4x AA, and I'm running it at a rez. of 1600x1200, and I maintain a healthy frame rate of around 50-60, not a stutter, even in the crowded trading posts. And my computer is about 2 years old, give or take.

On EQ2, I was lucky to pull in about 30 FPS, and I had all the settings on medium to low (and no world shadows, or anything). And forget about the town, that place was like a slideshow!

well i played it, for another 5 min, and by playing it longer i realized some stuff.. the textures of the world, are alright, yet when i put it on max settings the grass turns blinding white but i know i wont be putting it on max. Yet my main proplem is all the people in the game, are colarless white blocky figures. And yes i do lag, but im seeing complaints from everyone about lag. so hmm if i put in a Geforce vediocard instead of my stock, and update my drivers by downloading things my turn out... no idea though.

In regards to the white blinding light--go into Advanced Options and turn off the post-process effects (or whatever it's called); that will get rid of the glow objects give off. Seems to improve frame rate, too.

Worse comes to worse, you might just have to build a new rig. It's worth it, in my humble opinion. For this game and porn!

it really sounds like driver / settings problems rather than "my machine cant run it as it isn't good enough". The best thing to do would be to update your graphics drivers, then turn all advanced gfx effects off, and slowly add them one by one to see which one is causing the problem.

drivers! Go to the Sony support site, they maybe have one (Sony is very lame with new drivers ) for your Vaio, try to update every driver you find there (chipset etc). Should work

Here's the link: http://www.vaio-link.com/downloads/downloads.asp?l=en

It sounds like the only real problems that you're having with the game are graphics-related. I'd say give the graphics card a try, see how that goes. Also, try to make sure all your settings are at minimum in-game. The game does run on surprisingly low-end systems, but there is a limit, obviously.

I guess if worst comes to worst, it's just a few weeks and you'll be able to get something that can handle the game.
